I recently visited my mother's family cemetery, Fairview Cemetery. This cemetery is next to Fairview Church near Reedy.

Directions to the Cemetery are as follows. I got off the Ripley Fairplain Exit 138 and turned right and traveled through Ripley. I took Rt 33 E toward Spencer. Bef

Roane County was created by an act of the Virginia General Assembly in 1856. The land came predominantly from Kanawha county, but also from portions of Gilmer, Wirt and Jackson counties. The county was named in honor of Judge Spencer Roane.
