1887

January 8th/87 Church met and after Sermon by the Pastor the Church was called to order for business. 1st Reading the minutes of previous meeting. 2nd Reading the names of the present members of the church. 3rd Open the doors of the Church. On motion brethern M. Showen and T. H. Springston were restored to fellowship of the Church and J. S. West was received for baptism. 4th Treasurer report $38.50 received on Pastor's salary for this year. 5th On motion adjourned to meet at its next regular meeting.

Feb. 12/87 Church met and after devotional exercises led by Bro. Wm. Springston in the absence of the Pastor, Bro. C. Tyson was elected Mod. 1 - On motion Bro. Louis Goff was excluded, he having united with a Methodist Church. 2nd On motion Bro. Wm. Springston was released from Committee of the Whole. 3rd On motion the Church pledged to pay our pastor's salary monthly. 4th Treasurer report of $42.25 on Pastor's salary. 5th Sexton reports $3.00 paid on his salary. 6th We pledge ourselves to pay the old debt. Committee for the same C. F. West, J. C. Bartlett, C. D. Springston. 7th On motion Adjourn to our next regular meeting

Church met the 9th day of April and after sermon by the pastor, clerk read the minutes of previous meeting .
Sabbath - J. S. West was baptised and received into the fellowship of the Church.

Church met May 7th. After Sermon by Pastor proceeded to business. 1- Treasurer reported $58.60 paid on Pastor's salary; (10.50 paid by monthly subscription). 2- J.C. Bartlett Com. reported 50 cts on the monthly subscription. 3- Motion to adjourn.

Church met June 11th and after sermon by the pastor was called to order for business. 1-1 Minutes read and approved. 2- C.F. West reported 30 cts. Paid on monthly subscription. 3 - W.L. Starkey reported $4.84 paid (total amount paid was $6.92). 4- Motion carried to cancel the debt to Wm. Springston, G.G. Springston, C.F. West and balance of collection $1.25 to be paid on debt to C. D. Springston. 5. On motion Wm. Springston, C.F. West, Clara E. Springston and J. C. Bartlett were appointed Com. to raise the pastor's salary. 6- Motion we adjourn.

Church met July 9th and after sermon by the pastor, proceeded to business.
1. By request of the pastor, Bro. J. Smith was called to the chair
2. On motion, W. L. Starkey was elected Clerk
3. On Suggestion, a collection was taken to buy a Church Book. $1.50 collected, $1.25 cost.
4. C.F. West Committee reported on present year subscription $31.50.
5. Treasurer reported for past year 68.37; for present year 69.32 paid.
6. On motion J. S. West was appointed a Committee to take a subscription to pay the balance due the pastor by Aug. meeting. Adjourned.

Aug. 12 Church met and after sermon by the Pastor proceeded to business.
1. The minutes were read and approved.
2. The report of the committees was called for.
3. Bro. C. F. West reported 1.00 Sub. and 30� on monthly installments.
4. Bro. Jno. C. Bartlett reported nothing done, and Sister C. E. Springston was not present.
5. Bro. J. S. West failed to appear and report.
6. On motion the Clerk was ordered to prepare a letter and Brethern Jno. C. Bartlett, J. D. Springston, and W. L. Starkey were appointed delegates to the association and a alternate any Bro. who may be present.
Adjourned.

Sept. 10. Church met and after sermon by J. M. Wood proceeded to business.
1. The minutes of previous meting were read and adopted.
2. The church being without a pastor, on motion Bro. J. M. Wood was called to the chair.
3. On motion the Committee on Sub. was continued after report $68.90 subscribed.
4. J. S. West reported about $8.00 on subscription and about $5.00 of it collected.
5. On motion, the church proceeded to call a pastor, and after balloting, J. M. Wood having a considerable majority, his call was made unanimous. ________(? Ed.) on Salary.
6. On motion, the delegates were instructed to pledge the Church for $5.00 State Missions and $5.00 for Foreign Missions.
7. Committee to prepare a letter reported and the letter was adopted and to be filled out.

Oct. 8. Church met and after sermon by the pastor proceeded to business.
1. On motion, J. M. Wood elected Mod protem.
2. On motion, J. S. West was elected Ch Clk, protem. Delegates of the association reported.
3. On motion, Sister Martha Springston, Rosa Burgess & Pruda Tyson were appointed a Com. to take Subscription for Missions.
4. On motion, Bro. J. G. Springston was granted a letter of dismission

Nov. 12. Church met and after sermon by J. W. Wood proceeded to business. Minutes were read and approved. Bro. J. M. Wood, after mature consideration, accepted the call of the Church. On motion of Wm. Springston, all committees which were appointed before Oct. 8, 1887, be and the same discharged. On motion an order of business was adopted by the Church. The Treasurer's report being called for reported pres. Year $9.15. Sexton's report called for & Sister Belle West reported about the sum 5.00 due the Sexton. Adjourned.

Dec. 10. Church met and services conducted by Wm. Springston, proceeded to business. On motion, Bro. J. V. Bartlett was called to the chair. Report on missions being called for, Sister Martha Springston reported $9.20 on Subscription for Missions. On motion, the Church proceeded to receive bids on Sexton's office, and only one bid being received, the same was adjourned until next regular meeting. Treasurer reported paid on present year to date $11.15. Sexton reported due him $2.28. On motion the Moderator is required to instruct the Sexton as to his duty when he is selected. Church adjourned.

1888

Jan. 7. The Church met and after sermon by the pastor proceeded to business. Report of committees called for and none were present, except Sister Martha Springston. No report was made. On motion, W. A. McCoy was appointed a Committee to take a subscription on Sexton's salary. On motion, Brother C. C. Riddel was appointed a regular committee to take up Sunday collection to pay off church debt. The bidding on the office of Sexton was again commenced and Bro. Marcellus Showen bid $4.00, he being the lowest bidder, he was selected Sexton. Treasurer reported $17.95 paid on pres. Year. Sexton reported $1.68 due him which was paid on the Sunday following. Adjourned.

Feb. 11. Church met and after singing & Prayer, was called to order for business. On motion, Bro. J. V. Bartlett was chosen Mod. protem. Minutes read and approved. Reports of committees called for & Sister Martha Springston reported on Missionary work $122.05. Bro. C. C. Riddel reported in his hands on last collection 24�. On motion, the protracted meeting is to be conducted altogether during the day. Treasurer reported $23.70. Sexton reported paid pres. year, 35�. Adjourned until next regular meeting.

March 10. Church met and after sermon by the pastor proceeded to business. Report of committees called for and C. C. Riddel reported 75� collected on church debt.
On motion of T. H. Springston the time of holding the protracted meeting was reconsidered and carried again.
On motion of J. V. Bartlett the time of holding the service was left to the pastor to arrange as he thought best.
On motion of J. V. Bartlett it was resolved that any member of this Church absenting himself for the space of twelve months unless on account of sickness or not reporting themselves will forfeit their membership.
Treasurer reported $7.43 and $23.70 from last month Acct. 31.13.
Sexton reported paid $1.05.

April 7. Church met and after sermon by the pastor, proceeded to business. Minutes were read and corrected.
Committee on missions called upon to report & no report was given.
Bro. C. C. Riddel reported $11.25 subscribed to on Church debt.
Treasurer reported $2.00 and $31.13 on last month Acct. 33.13.
Sexton reported 75� and last month $1.05. Total $1.80.

April 8. Sunday . Sister Olie Springston, Martha Showen & Jennie Fairbee were baptised.

May 12. Church met and after prayer by the Pastor proceeded to business. No committees present.
On motion of J. V. Bartlett, C. Tyson and W. L. Starkey were appointed a committee to confer with I. N. Morford concerning the terms of exchanging church property for other property.
Treasurer reported $2.51 + $33.13.
Sexton reported 10� and 1.80. Total 1.90
Sisters Olie Springston and Martha Showen received the hand of fellowship.
Church adjourned.

Sunday, May 13. Sister Jennie Fairbee received the hand of fellowship.

June 9. Church met and after sermon by the Pastor proceeded to business.
No committees reported.
On motion the time of holding service was changed to the Saturday before the fist Sunday each month.
Treasurer reported $4.00 on present month and $35.64 = 39.64.
Sexton reported nothing. Last month $1.90.
On motion, Church adjourned to meet Saturday before the first Sunday in July, 1888

Treasurer reported 390.61 and 50� making a total of $40.14.
Sexton reported last month 1.90 and .25 making a total to date of 2.15.
On motion adjourned.

Aug. 4. Church met and after sermon by the Pastor proceeded to business.
Sister Rosa Burgess reported 80� on Missions
On motion it was ordered that a letter be prepared to send to the Association.
Brethern C. F. West, J. A. Corder and J. V. Bartlett were appointed delegates to the Association.

Sept. 1. Church met and after and after prayer proceeded to business.
On motion Bro. T. H. Springston was made moderator protem and J. S. West, Clerk pro tem.
On motion J. S. West was made permanent Assistant Clerk.
On motion the Church proceeded to call a Pastor and Bro. J. W. Wood receiving a majority his call was made unanimous.
On motion Sisters Martha Springston, Clara Epling and Bro. J. S. West were appointed a committee to solicit subscriptions for the pastor's salary.
On motion the committee on Missions is ordered to pay over all money collected by them for Missions to the delegates to the Association.
On motion all above the amount pledged to State and Foreign Missions is to be paid to the Home Mission.
On motion delegates were instructed to pledge $5.00 to State and $5.00 to foreign missions.
On motion W. A. McCoy was appointed to collect to pay for Minutes.
Treasurer reported $54.06 on Pastor's salary and on Missions $5.01.
Sexton reported nothing paid.
