| Joseph BUTCHER & Eunice FISHER, descendants of early settlers in the Monongahela Valley m. Lewis Co. WV about 1830. They were parents of 3 sons & 3 daughters: Wilson, Margaret, Lucinda, Matilda, John Webster & Joseph A.
The father Joseph d. Lewis Co. WV, the widow Eunice m. BADGET; of this union 1 son & 1 daughter: George Bollin & Elizabeth "Bette".
All this family came to Roane Co. 1858/1859 & made their homes. Wilson BUTCHER, not married, died of wounds received as a confederate soldier.
Marriages of others of the family: Margaret b. 1 JAN 1839 m. John FLESHER about 1859, s/o George FLESHER; who made his home on Left Reedy, 1 mile above Three Forks. Of this union, 2 sons: Andrew L & William FLESHER.
Lucinda m. Peter BUSH about 1854 & made their home on Tucker Run of Left Reedy, next home on Main Left Reedy, 3 miles above Three Forks. Their children were: William, George & a daughter. This Peter BUSH is mentioned as the distiller of brandies.
Matilda m. Harrison REXROAD of Lewis Co. WV
John Webster BUTCHER, s/o Joseph & Eunice, m. Eliza GLAZE. They made their home on Ravenswood & Spencer turnpike. Their children: Mary; Lucinda-popular teacher who m. Napoleon B. HOFF.
Sophia Eunice m. Charles Thomas MITCHELL 1878.
Charles Henry, yet at the old homestead, b. 1859 m. Gillie Elizabeth BARR 9 NOV 1881 & they have 2 sons & 3 daughters.
James Madison BUTCHER, s/o John W. & Eliza (GLAZE), m. Mary Esta LOONEY 17 DEC 1882, d/o Lewis M. LOONEY of Walton District.
Everett, s/o John W. & eliza, married at 23 Martha ARGABRITE 25 NOV 1896. Died leaving 1 son & 1 daughter.
Joseph A. BUTCHER, s/o Joseph & Eunice m. Phoebe BUCKBY, likely in Jackson Co. & their children were Lewis & Sarah.
