I recently visited my mother's family cemetery, Fairview Cemetery. This cemetery is next to Fairview Church near Reedy.

Directions to the Cemetery are as follows. I got off the Ripley Fairplain Exit 138 and turned right and traveled through Ripley. I took Rt 33 E toward Spencer. Before reaching Spencer I turned left onto Reedyville Rd. Continue on Reedyville Rd. To Rt 14 Parkersburg Road. Turn right and travel several miles, then turn left on Grace Rd. Continue until you see Fairview Rd on left, turn there it will become a gravel road. Go to top of the hill and you will see the cemetery and church.

My maternal grandparents are buried there, Homer V. and Bertha Callow Roberts. My great grandparents are also buried there, William C. And Mary Ann Davis Roberts. My 2nd great grandmother is also buried there under the name of Rosena Hall her last husband 's name. Her maiden name was Straight. She was married to Samuel Roberts my 2nd great grandfather. Rosena's parents are also buried here my 3rd great grandparents James Acie Straight and his wife Sarah Neely Straight. There are a lot of Callows, Roberts, Straights and Boggs. I have two aunts there and an uncle with their spouses. There are still plots available in the newer part of the Cemetery.

My maternal grandmother's parents are buried in the Callow Cemetery. Her parents are Jefferson Hedrick and Sarah Ashley Callow. Sarah was his first wife and when she died he married her sister Lakie Bell. Elijah Callow is Jefferson Callow's father. He is also buried at the Callow Cemetery. I wasn't able to locate the Callow Cemetery but I found it on this site so hopefully I can visit it in the future.

I enjoy genealogy research and use Ancestry for most of my information. I will post my findings on this site to assist in providing information on Roane County's past residents and history.
