Looking for information on the COTTRELL family, in particular Gilbert
COTTRELL. He was married to Nancy Emeline PETERS. Also looking for info
on the WAGGONER family. Gilbert's mother was Maria WAGGONER. Gilbert
served in the 60th VA Infantry during the war between the states. His
two uncles, Samuel & John WAGGONER served in the same country.
Interested in finding any information on the " GREATHOUSE
& quot; family of Roane Co. Also interested in finding information
about Mary Electma LONGFELLOW.
I am just beginning my families genealogy. My great grandfather was
Lonnie W. ADKINS & my g-grandmother was Ethel RUNNION; both of
Pigeon, Roane County, WV. Lonnie's mother was Anna Suzanne ODELL, she
married Isam ADKINS. Ethel's mother was called HUD, she married Jim
RUNNION. I am also searching for information on the parents/grandparents
of Richard & quot; Bud & quot; Bennett CURTIS. He was first
married to Zillie CARPER, then to Flossie ADKINS. (my grandmother). This
is a side branch of the family which needs some information for college
soon. I am very willing to share what info I have.

raised family in Roane Co. WV from 1850 intil 1900c. Need his parents,

I am looking for info on the ADKINS/RUNNION family of Amma/Pigeon,
West Virginia. My Gr-grandfather was Lonnie ADKINS, he married Ethel
RUNNION. They first lived in Little Pigeon & moved to Big Pigeon; I
have been told that an article was pub in the Spencer newspaper which
described the original land grant to the ADKINSON ( later shortened to
ADKINS) brothers. I would like to trace down a copy of this article.
Family rumor says that my gr-gr-grandmother RUNNION moved to the area
from KY. I will be in WVa around Thanksgiving ('96) & would like to
make the best use of my time there. All help/hints/thoughts are
appreciated.

There I found some info on my parents families, FIELDS & DAWSON. My
gr-grandfather, Elijah LaForce FIELDS m. Ruanna or Ruana MOORE in Roane
Co. WV on 26 NOV 1872. I searched the MOORE database but no mention of
Ruanna. Can you help or point me in the right direction? Thanks.
Gr. Grandfather James HART m. Nancy PAYNE abt 1866 in Wetzel Co. WV.
Had a son Marcellus Born there. Later migrated to Roane Co. around Gay,
WV. My Grandfather Myron Reese HART was b. there in 1872. He m.
CUNNINGHAM. There was a Kelley Scott HART that m. Sarah T. HALEY in
1867. I do not know if James HART or Kelley Scott HART are related. If
anybody has info on this family I would appreciate hearing from you.
I'm looking for my wife's aunt Bethel OBRIAN who is believed to be
living in the Spencer area. We are trying to put the WILLIAMS family
history together. Aunt Bethel & her sister Virginia are the only
living members that are still living. We have located her sister

I would like to know the birthplace & parents of Dr. William COBB
b. abt 1744. He m. Elizabeth MORRISON in Greenbriar Co. 1787. Dr.
William COBB lived on the Elk River in Kanawha Co. & was the first
doctor in the area. In a WV book I found an article about one of his
grandsons which stated that Dr. William was b. in England. I have
wondered if he was related to Fleming COBB who came to Kanawha about the
same time as Dr. William COBB. Does anyone know this COBB family?/ ALSO
searching for info on John & Marey (ALFORD) ASHLEY. John ASHLEY was
b. abt 1774 in Orange Co. NC m. Marey ALFORD 1799 in Wilkes CO. NC THey
moved to Kanawha CO. & had a mill which was located where Osborn's
Mill is today. I would like to know who their parents were./ ALSO I
would like to know the par. of Rachel WOODRUFF b. 1800 in NJ. She m.
Jacob STARCHER in Mason Co. WV. There is a David WOODRUFF who was in
Jackson Co. census & would be the age to be her brother. Very little
WOODRUFF info can be found in either Mason, Jackson or Roane Co.'s.
