I am looking for information on Alexander WILLIAMS who married Ann Eliza STEPHENS in 1865 in Kanawha County .... His children were George (bn 1860), Robert (bn 1867), Lewis E (bn 1869) and Charlotte S (bn 1872).

My wife's ancestors were the RISER's .... Grandfather was Henry with wife Mary BURCH .... They lived at Riser's Ridge, WV - I'm having an awful time trying to find the EXACT county that Riser's Ridge is in, so I can see if anyone's researching that line .... I am wondering if someone can help me locate 3 graves ? I have their death certificates, showing they all died in Roane County .... According to the census they lived in Curtis District :
1 - Jacob GRIFFITH - died 16 Sep 1894
2 - Nevel Jane GRIFFITH (twin) - died 12 Sep 1876
3 - Edward B GRIFFITH (twin) - died 26 Sep 1876

(2) Ray Metz, son of William and Minnie, was born in 1901 in Leatherbark, Calhoun County.... He married Opha PURSLEY on 22 Nov 1924 in Spencer .... Would like to know their death dates and places of burial .... They died 1998 or 1999 in Spencer .... Will greatly appreciate any help,

I am researching my great-great grandfather Joseph CHEUVRONT, born 1809 in Harrison County .... He was the son of Aaron CHEUVRONT and the grandson of Joseph Louis CHEUVRONT .... In the 1850 Jackson County census 225-229 Joseph and his wife Hannah lived next door to Aaron Charles CHEUVRONT .... In the 1860 Jackson census Hannah is listed as a widow .... It is said that he ran off with a POWERS woman, however, also I have a lead that he followed his brothers to Nebraska intending to send for his wife and he had amnesia in NE Kansas .... I am looking for any record of a divorce or his death .... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know he had a brother named Gay .... Did he have other siblings ? Would like to know their names, dates of birth and death. Any info welcome.

How might I find out anything about my great-grandfather, William Henry COON, who died in Spencer State Hospital, date unknown? He was in a mine cave-in about 1889 and 3 men were trapped, one died and the other two 'never recovered' .... In the 1900 Kanawha census he is listed as 'husband in asylum' .... In the 1900 Roane census he is listed as a patient at the hospital, age 48 years, born Feb 1852 and married 30 years. His names was listed as Henry COON .... How can I find the records?

Looking for family and ancestors of Whirley Brooks ABBOTT, born 27 Mar 1900 .... He married Nellie GRIFFITH and had 5 sons: Earl, Clifford, Rufus, Junior and Eugene .... He had sisters Bessie and Molly .... He may have been born in Kanawha County as that is where he registered for the draft .... He died March 1971.

I am searching for my great-grandfather, John Burl SHREWSBURY, called "Fittified John" .... He was born in Wyoming County about 1849 .... He married Louisa A Elizabeth BASHAM on 01 Jan 1874 .... Later he was placed in the Spencer State Hospital and died there on 22 Jul 1902 .... His family does not know where he was buried although they believe it to be Roane County .... Did the hospital keep death and burial records of this type? Who can I contact? There is talk among our family that the hospital may have donated his body to "medical science".

My husband is George Jackson KING, he lost his parents in NC when he was 8 years old. He and his 2 younger sisters were placed in a Knights of Pythias orphanage in Clayton, NC and they were not given any family records or pictures .... While attending the orphanage reunion last month in Raleigh, NC I researched in the NC State Archives and found the following info on death certificates from microfilm:

Father - George Jackson KING, dob 06/02/1891 in W.Va., died 06/03/1943 in Greensboro, NC
Mother - Susan LOWDER KING, born Sumter, SC, died in Clarkton, NC in 1937.

Grandfather - L Frank KING, dob 12/19/1860 in Left Hand, W.Va., died 12/12/1936 in Greensboro, NC
Grandmother - Elizabeth JUSTICE KING, of Left Hand, W.Va. - No death record found

Great-grandfather - J W KING - [John W KING - 1860 Roane census - pb]
Great-grandmother - Julia DEAL KING - [Cochran marriage record says Julia DRAKE - pb]

I would love to find someone who has researched members of the KING family. I am a newcomer to genealogy research online and am trying to do a family tree for my husband for his 70th birthday in August.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!!
