1863

The Church met on Saturday before the first Sabbath in January 1863 and after Sermond by Brother Petty proceeded to business. 1st. Res. That Brother Petty be our Moderator. 2nd. Read minutes of previous meeting. 3rd. hear the report of the Committee whereon Brother Wm. Springston reported they had selected a site on the North side of the County Road leading to Spencer where G. G. Springston child is buryed. 4th. Res. That we receive the report and discharge the committee. 5th. Res. That we receive the lot described above. 6th Res. that Brother J. T. Bartlett write a titlebond for the same. 7th. Res. That Brethern J. T. Bartlett, W. J. Bartlett, C. Tyson, A. Springston, and G. G. Springston be Trustees of the same. 8th. Res. That we adjourn untill our next regular meeting.

Springston be a Committee to draft some Resolution for the Consideration of the Church on the mode of Discipline. 4th. Res. That we adjourn.

The church met on Saturday before the first Sabbath in Oct/63 and after Sermon by the Pastor proceeded to business. 1st. Read the Rules of Decorum and Minutes of Previous Meeting. 2nd. Hear report of and discharge the same the Com. Whereon the Com. Presented the following resolutions 1st. Res. That when a publick offense is comit, it shall be the duty of the individual knowing to the act to make it known to the Deacon whose Duty it is to Visit the offender and bring the Case before the Church. 2nd. Res. That no member shall be Excluded without the concurrent testimony of two or more Witnesses. 3rd. Res. That no member be Excluded with less than two thirds of the members present voting against the offender. 1st. Res. That we amend the first Resolution by striking out the word visit and inserting the word notify which was adopted. 2nd. Res. That we adopt the Second Resolution as it stand. 3rd. Res. That we adopt the third resolution which was last. 4th. Res. That we adjourn until our next regular meeting.

That we meet at Mt.. Olive Church on Saturday before the second Lord's Day in April/64 at the hour of ten with one delegate and letter and that we invite other Churches of the Mt. Pisgua Association to meet with us at the above named with one delegate and letter in order to reorganize our association and appoint a place for holding the same. 3rd. Res. that we receive Sister Susan Daniell on the experience for the ordination of Baptism. 4th. Res. That we adjourn untill our regular day of business.

(NOTE: The minutes of church meetings that I am copying were previously copied by the church clerk and there are some obvious errors. Two errors on dates of meetings occur on the next two entries. The two entries read "1863" when chronologically as they appear, these should have been "1864" -Ed)


The Church met on Saturday before the first Sabbath /63 and after Sermon by the Pastor proceeded to business. 1st. Read the Rules of Decorum and minutes of previous meeting. 2nd. Res. That we amend the first Resolution of our previous meeting and meet at the hour of ten "AM". 3rd. Res. That we amend the 4th Resolution passed by the Church April 15th, 1860 by striking out the word visit and insert the word Notify. 4th. Adjourned until our next regular meeting.

On Sabbath the Church received Brother Charles Daniell and Sister Edith Daniell on experience for the Ordinance of Baptism.

The Church met on the Saturday before the first Sabbath in May, 1864 and after Sermon by the Pastor proceeded to business. First Read rules of Decorum and minutes of previous meeting. 2nd. to hear report of the delegate. 3rd. to hear a letter from Sister Lance. 4th. Res. That we lay the complaint against Sister Lance over untill further hearing. 5th. Res. That we grant Sister Perrine Letter of Dismission. 6th Res. that we receive sister Susan Daniell on experience for the Ordinance of Baptism 7th. Res. To adjourn untill regular meeting.

On Sabbath extended the right hand of fellowship to Bro. Charles and Sisters Edith and Susan Daniell on experience for the Ordinance of Baptism.

Called for the reading of the Rules of Decorum and minutes of previous meeting. 3rd. Res. That in the absence of the Record of the Church that we adjourn until our next regular meeting for business.

The church met on Saturday before the first Sabbath in July 1864 and after Sermon by Brother Petty proceeded to business. 1st. Res. That Brother Petty be our Moderator. 2nd. Res. That we expunge the word Suggest in the 5th Rule of Decorum. 3rd. Res. That any Person Professing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and wishes to unite with this Church Shall give evidence of a change of heart upon which the Church may receive them for the Ordinance of Baptism and after being Baptized they Shall at first convenient opportunity Present themselves before the Church on a day of business and be received to the fellowship of the Church and have an equal right to all the immunities of the Church. 4th. Res. That we amend the above Res. By striking out the words (on a day of business). 5th. Res. That the treasurer use his endeavor to collect the dues of the Church. 6th. Res. That we pay Brother Petty at the same Ratio that we payed Brother Smith. 7th. Res. That the reception of Brother C. A. Daniell, and Sisters Edith and Susan S. Daniell be valid. 8th. Res. That we receive Sister Clarice C. Daniell by the right hand of fellowship. 9th. Res. That we adjourn untill our next meeting.

Springston as Building Committee of our Meeting House. 3rd. Res. That Brother (?) Bartlett be our Treasurer. 4th. Res that we grant a letter of dismission to Brother (?) Bartlett and his wife. 5th. Res. That we adjourn untill our next regular meeting.
