John C. LONG b. Holly Meadows, Randolph Co. 1 JUN 1831 s/o James & Barbary A. (JOHNSON) LONG. John's first wife was Samantha BOOTH d/o Houston & Ingaby (THOMPSON) BOOTH & she died 1 year after marriage. His second wife, was Margaret V. d/o John & Hannah (CORDER) PICKENS whom he married 21 FEB 1867 Barbour Co. He enlisted on the Confederate side & served with General Albert G. JENKINS. Their children: James Lee, Icy BOOTHE, Rose Altha & William W. John C. was a large, fair skinned man with blue eyes & of a countenance suggesting playful humor & good sense. He sold his land to his brother-in-law Melville W. MORRISON.
