Asbury LEWIS, a popular cattle dealer & good citizen, was born 1840 Harrison Co. m. Olive POST 1866. Their children: George L.; Judson R.; Orville & Laco. All came to Roane Co. 1882-1884. George Loman m. Ella CHAMBERS d/o Jacob CHAMBERS NOV 12 1890. Judson Romie m. Fannie CLARKSON 7 APR 1901. Laco m. Lena HURT. Asbury LEWIS m. Francis Catherine LOONEY 28 FEB 1884 d/o Daniel LOONEY Sr. & their children: Eliza m. Rector B. ROWE & Jennie.

Edward LEWIS, s/o James A. & Prudentia (WILSON) LEWIS, boen in Charleston 24 AUG 1838 d. 1902 Roane Co. James A. LEWIS was born 1794 Bath Co. VA & served War of 1812 & died 1860 Kanawha Co. Prudentia WILSON was born 1801 Ireland & died 1867 Kanawha Co.

Edward's first wife was Anna L. McCHESNEY 21 OCT 1858 & she was born 7 DEC 1838 Rockbridge Co. VA & died 4 JUN 1865 leaving daughter Prudentia m. Dr. William CAMPBELL. Edward enlisted in Stonewall Jackson's Brigade, Co. I, 4th Va Inf. at Richmond 1864 with his brother John F. LEWIS. Another brother named John LEWIS, of same army, was killed in battle of Winchester 19 SEP 1864.

Edward's second wife, sister of the first wife, Mary M. McCHESNEY b. 22 FEB 1841 d/o James & Francis A. (McNUT) McCHESNEY. Their children: Fannie M. m. SIMPSON; William A.; James McChesney; John Edward; May m. GOAD; Lucy J. m. James LYNCH.
