I am looking for a list of people who are buried at the Egypt Ridge Cemetery near Spencer in Roane county, WV. I am also looking for a picture of the Church. I may have some pictures of the church and some people who might be Pursleys,or Waggoners. These pictures I believe where taken in 1935 but have know way of knowing who the people are. They were pictures my mother-in-law had, she was Chelsie Waggoner Haynes. Her mother was Rushia Pursley Waggoner. My great grandfather was Waffie Dane Pursley (Dick)of Spencer, WV at the Egypt Road Methodist Church whose father was Jessie Pursley burried Egypt Road Cemetery. His brothers were John, Blan, Otis, Thomas (Tom), Morey, Jack
I would definitly be interested in the pictures you have and any information.
My mom recognizes the name Rushia, she believes that Rushia might have been the neice of Waffie Dane Pursley (Dick). My mom recalls going to Pursley Family reunions at McConnelsville, OH in the 50's. We have pictures of the Pursley homestead on Egypt Road with the Pursely Family and a picture of my great great grandma Pursely sitting in a rocking chair. We also have pictures of the Pursley family reunions. We could send you these photos.
My third cousin, Renna Pursley Sparr, lives in Ripley, WV. She is in a nursing home and is almost 100 years old. Also Patty Pursley Cooper who was an adopted daughter of Bill and Estel Pursely (both decesed)lives in Williamstown, WV.
Ruth Pursely, wife of Harry Pursely (son of Blan Pursley) also lives in Williamstown, WV.
