I am looking for ANY information on James Patton and his wife Mary A. --- with children Martha Susan and David McG. listed in the 1860 Roane County Census and 1850 Kanawha Co Census. James Patton was born in Ohio about 1808 and Mary A. was born in VA about 1825. James Patton is listed at age 92 on the Geary Dist. Roane Co. 1900 Census living with his daughter Martha and her husband James B. Groves. My Grandma (their grandaughter) told me Mary A. lost her mind and died in the Spencer Mental Hosp. because her son was killed in the Civil War. Kanawha Co. records indicate Mary A. was James' second wife and that he had a son by his first marriage, John, born in 1830 in Ohio. John married Mary E. McCune on April 4, 1850 in Kanawha Co. Also, did James or Mary A. Patton have relatives living in the same area?
