The 1880 Roane County census has David N. Foster, age 56, Preacher of Gospel, with wife Nancy, also 56, and daughter Mary F., age 10.
I believe it's possible that this is the same David Foster in 1850 Monroe County, age 26, with (first) wife Margaret and several children. In 1850 Monroe, my ancestor Hiram H. Foster, age 19 is also living with David's family. I've tracked David in census records from 1850-1880 and there are several clues supporting this theory.
Since I have turned up no additional information about Hiram, I am hoping to track down clues through the family of this David. He might've been a cousin, or older brother to Hiram (hopefully).
Anybody have anything at all on either of these men or their families?
Thanks so much for your time!
